
(Patria) - Police officers of the Criminal Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, in cooperation with members of the Doboj and Banja Luka police administrations and the Gendarmerie, conducted an operational action called "Sambo" aimed at preventing animal abuse and organizing dog fights.
During a search of a location in the Derventa area, 84 individuals were found (citizens of the Republic of Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Police officers interviewed 70 individuals as witnesses, while 14 individuals were deprived of their liberty and a report will be filed against them for the criminal offenses of "Abuse and Torture of Animals" and "Illicit Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs" and "Enabling the Use of Narcotic Drugs".
Searches of vehicles by police officers are ongoing, and an investigation is being conducted at the fight site.
At the scene, carcasses of killed dogs and several injured dogs were found, and money and a certain amount of narcotic drugs were seized, as well as other items that can be linked to the aforementioned criminal offenses. All measures and actions are being taken under the supervision of the Doboj District Public Prosecutor's Office, according to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS.
