Sports Association of BiH to posthumously award recognition to Erna Sinanović

KALESIJA, (Patria) - The Sports Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina will organize the "Selection of the Athlete and Sports Team of BiH for 2017" on January 25 at the National Theatre in Sarajevo.

Yesterday, January 15, was the deadline for submitting proposals for the selection of the athlete and sports team of BiH.

In addition to the selection of athletes and teams that achieved the most successful results in the past year, special recognitions will also be awarded. The names of all recipients will be announced at the event, but it is already known that the Organizing Committee, headed by Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, following a proposal by journalist Muhamed Bikić, has decided to posthumously award recognition to Erna Sinanović, a volleyball player who died on January 3 this year in a serious traffic accident in Maslama near Kalesija.

Erna Sinanović was a national champion with the women's volleyball club "Polo" Kalesija.

She also played for Kula from Gradačac, and ended her career at ŽOK Bosna Kalesija. She was also a member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national volleyball team. For a time, she was the captain of our best volleyball selection. She was also declared athlete of the year in Kalesija and Gradačac.
