Špirić confirms his son works at OSA

Nikola Špirić, a representative in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, spoke today about the problems surrounding the appointment of the Joint Committee of both houses that oversees the work of the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA), reports the Patria News Agency.

We remind you that Nikola Špirić was nominated by SNSD as a member of this committee, which has caused a dispute among parliamentarians, as SDS claims that Špirić's son works at OSA, which would be a conflict of interest.

When asked by Patria journalists if it is true that his son works in this agency and if he considers it a conflict of interest, Špirić said:

- Yes, he works there, but that has nothing to do with it. Why hasn't the Conflict of Interest Committee been established? This is about something else, about hysteria emanating from this house - said Špirić.

He added that the hall is not a place for hysteria but for discussion, but reiterated that SNSD will again leave the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA.

- We are asking for a point to be put on the agenda for discussion, but people don't want that. This is my party's decision. It's time for all of us to look each other in the eye and admit political responsibility. Imagine how Serbian victims feel - said Špirić, alluding to the Speaker Šefik Džaferović, who was accused of alleged crimes against Serbs in Vozuća, which the BiH Prosecutor's Office dismissed.

- We did not seek the Prosecutor's Office's opinion, although I respect it, but we are seeking political responsibility - Špirić added.
