
(Patria) - Protests are being held in front of the Prosecutor's Office building in Bijeljina due to the arrest of Mayor Ljubiša Petrović.
Citizens gathered at 9 AM in front of the Bijeljina Police Administration, from where they headed to the Prosecutor's Office where Petrović is awaiting a decision on detention.
Ljubiša Petrović's lawyer, Miodrag Stojanović, said that a decision from the prosecutor is expected soon. According to BN, Sabina Husejnagić is the prosecutor who is supposed to make the decision.
A group of citizens tried to enter the Prosecutor's Office building, at which point police officers came out of the building and formed a cordon to prevent entry into the Prosecutor's Office yard.
A fence was knocked down in the scuffle, but an escalation was prevented.
"We spoke with the commander, our request is for Petrović to be released. The Police Administration is acting on the order of the Prosecutor's Office, they are waiting for a decision. Within half an hour, the police commander will call the prosecutor, and we will wait to see what the prosecutor has decided," said Milan Miličević, president of SDS-
