Spasojević: Crnadak did not give visas to Kosovo basketball players

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Boris Spasojević, a member of the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of BiH and president of the Basketball Federation of Republika Srpska, told N1 that it is not within the federation's jurisdiction whether basketball players from Kosovo will receive visas and as far as he is concerned, they could get visas today or tomorrow.

- Now they are trying to shift the blame to someone else. As far as I and my associates are concerned, visas can be issued tomorrow or today. They could have been issued three days ago. We are sportspeople. We are not interested in politics or diplomacy - he emphasized.

Spasojević told N1 that the decision of Igor Crnadak, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, was that Kosovo basketball players would not receive a visa to stay in BiH.

- I don't know how seriously your television deals with journalism. I think you are a serious television and as such you should know that nine members of the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of BiH do not work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.

We have nothing to do with visas. That is purely the decision of the minister and his associates. A year ago, he issued visas to handball players. That is purely the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH - concluded Spasojević.

We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced today that the letter they received from the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of BiH does not contain the signature of support from the Vice President of the Management Board from Republika Srpska, Boris Spasojević.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH also stated that representatives of Republika Srpska in the Basketball Federation of BiH opposed the participation of the Kosovo selection in this competition.

Members of the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of BiH are: Dalibor Miloš, President, Sejo Bukva and Boris Spasojević, Vice Presidents, Vinko Batinić, Mirsad Đonlagić, Goran Cvikić, Nikica Petrović, Mevludin Delibašić, Dana Muminović, members.

Spasojević is also the president of the Basketball Federation of Republika Srpska and the president of KK Igokea. He was the bearer of the SNSD list of Milorad Dodik for the Assembly of the Municipality of Laktaši in the 2016 General Elections. He is the current president of the Assembly of the Municipality of Laktaši.
