Spalletti new Italy coach

(Patria) - The Football Federation of Italy (FIGC) announced that an agreement has been reached with Luciano Spalletti for the position of national team coach.

This successful 64-year-old expert will officially take over the Italian national team on September 1st.

"Let us welcome Spalletti," said FIGC President Gabriele Gravina.

"The national team needed a great coach, and I am very happy that Spalletti accepted the position," he added.

Spalletti led Napoli to a brilliant 2022-23 season, when they became Italian champions for the first time since 1990.

He was named Serie A Coach of the Season after the historic success.

In his career so far, Spalletti has coached numerous clubs, including Empoli, Sampdoria, Udinese, Roma, Zenit Saint Petersburg, and Inter Milan.
