SOKOLAC Former Director of RS Forests Slaven Gojković and several others arrested

Former General Director of the Public Enterprise Forests of the Republic of Srpska Slaven Gojković was arrested today, Faktor has learned.

In an operation that has been ongoing since this morning, in addition to Gojković, at least three other people were arrested, while according to current information, one person is being sought.

Since this morning, police have been present at the premises of the headquarters of JP Forests of RS in Sokolac, as well as at the premises belonging to the Romanija Sokolac Forest Management.

The operation is being conducted under the supervision of the District Public Prosecutor's Office of East Sarajevo.

Gojković resigned from this position in March of this year. He is a member of the Socialist Party.

(pATRIA) - Searches are being carried out within the investigation of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo, which relates to illegal actions of responsible persons of the Forests of the Republic of Srpska, Forest Management “Romanija” Sokolac, Forest Management “Sjemeć“ Rogatica, Forest Management “Visočnik“ Han Pijesak, and Forest Management “Panos“ Višegrad.

The main figure of the operation is certainly the arrested Slaven Gojković, former director of Forests of RS, while the acting director of SG “Romanija” Strahinja Bašević is on the run.

"The suspects are accused of having, during 2020 in the area of the municipalities of Sokolac, Han Pijesak, Rogatica and Višegrad, namely G. S. as acting director of Forests of the Republic of Srpska, B. S. as acting director of SG „Romanija“ Sokolac, L. M. as acting director of SG „Sjemeć“ Rogatica, G. J. as acting director of SG „Visočnik“ Han Pijesak and Č. L. as acting director of SG „Panos „Višegrad, misused their official position and authority, thereby causing damage to the budget of the Republic of Srpska by knowingly violating the Law on Public Procurement of Bosnia and Herzegovina, abusing the urgency stated in the Order of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska, even though they knew that the municipalities of Sokolac, Višegrad, Han Pijesak and Rogatica had not declared a natural disaster, and they took advantage of the circumstances of the declaration of the "COVID-19" pandemic, which was declared by the World Health Organization at a global level," stated the OJT East Sarajevo.

Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, while executing the order of the District Court in East Sarajevo, deprived four individuals with the initials G. S, L. M, G. J. and Č. L. of their liberty, while the individual with the initials B.S. evaded apprehension and is currently being intensively searched for.

– The District Public Prosecutor's Office in East Sarajevo is aware of the fact that in the past two days, information has appeared in the media from the suspect B.S. which was clearly used to evade apprehension. Based on these facts, a separate case has been formed to investigate whether the investigation has been jeopardized and the perpetrators potentially prosecuted – the prosecutor's office statement reads.
