The most important witness for the BiH Prosecutor's Office in the court proceedings against Darko Elez and members of his criminal organization, Anđelko Veljančić, called journalists from Slobodna Bosna from the Zenica prison, reports the Patria News Agency.
Noting that his life and the lives of his family have been seriously endangered in recent months due to the inexplicable behavior of several employees of the Witness Protection Department of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), Veljančić stated that he is ready to reveal the truth about corrupt police officers.
-After the robbery of 2.2 million euros from a shipment of Privredna banka Sarajevo on June 29, 2006, Darko Elez and I were driven away with the money in his car by Bojan Cvijan.
Then we were taken over by Goran Zubac, who was then the head of the Security Services Center in Trebinje, and in his vehicle, we reached the border crossing with Montenegro.
Darko's brother, Davor Elez, was with us at the time, and we were picked up by a man from the Montenegrin border service; I remember he was driving a red Opel Ascona, claims Anđelko Veljančić, and reveals that some people from the BiH Prosecutor's Office have already "advised" him not to mention the director of SIPA, as he would create even bigger problems for himself.
To our question about when and how he met Goran Zubac, the insider witness in the "Lutka case" replies that Vaso Ljubibratić and Dragan Vujičić, known as Picela, who died after the trial began, connected Darko Elez and him with the then head of the Trebinje police.
-Vujičić died suddenly when he decided to cooperate with the Prosecutor's Office, adds Veljančić, and warns that he is aware that some people from the SIPA Witness Protection Department want to declare him mentally unstable and that they have stated in official reports that he needs a psychiatrist.
-If that is the case, then the question arises whether my statements and testimonies are credible, emphasizes Anđelko Veljančić, and suspects that "strange games" are being played around him.
-Let SIPA and Goran Zubac explain where Anđelko Veljančić was from November 24 to 28, why I was not in the witness protection program for four days, and where they illegally took me out of prison, threatened Veljančić, but he did not want to say where he stayed after his protection program was suddenly suspended on November 20.
