Sofić and Forto: Improving the Healthcare System

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Edin Forto and Minister of Health Amela Sofić were on a working visit to the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Health Center today.

"Health centers must show that they are there for patients and that the service to patients must be raised to the highest level," said Prime Minister Forto after talks with the acting director of the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Health Center, Mehmed Kulić.

Minister Sofić emphasized that the citizens of Sarajevo Canton deserve a higher quality healthcare system.

"In this regard, the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Health Center plays a significant role, as it provides the primary level of healthcare, which represents the first door of the healthcare system. In this context, it is important to improve family medicine through more functional family medicine teams. Healthcare services in Hadžići and Ilijaš must be equal to those in, for example, the Centar municipality," said Minister Sofić.

Acting Director Kulić stated that this was also an opportunity to discuss staffing issues, the equipment of health centers, and work plans, with the aim of improving services for all insured persons in Sarajevo Canton.
