SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Social Democratic Party of BiH has submitted a set of amendments to the proposed Law on Mitigating Economic Consequences Caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic to the parliamentary procedure.
"The general assessment of workers, entrepreneurs, the academic community and political entities is that the proposed Law by the Government of the Federation of BiH is insufficient to mitigate the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why the SDP BiH decided to submit a set of amendments to the draft law submitted by the FBiH Government," they say from SDP BiH.
The intention of the SDP BiH amendments is:
- Exemption from payment of contributions for all affected companies
- Subsidies for workers' salaries
- Legal moratorium on loans
- Deferral of profit tax payment
- Paid leave for parents
- Prohibition of termination of lease agreements and eviction of tenants
- Tax relief for freelancers
- Parliamentary oversight of the work of the Government and the Fund
SDP BiH will present the text of the amendments at a press conference on Thursday, April 9, starting at 10 a.m., about which the media will be informed in a timely manner.
"We thank everyone for the submitted proposals for improving the law, which have been largely incorporated into the amendments, and for recognizing us as a reliable partner when it comes to representing their rights in institutions," they say from SDP BiH.
