Snow covers Krajina: Expected to continue during the day, sub-zero temperatures overnight

(Patria) - The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute has forecast a cold snap, snow and sub-zero temperatures for today.

Air temperatures measured at 10:00 AM (°C): Bihać and Bjelašnica 0; Banja Luka, Gradačac, Prijedor and Sanski Most 1; Doboj and Drvar 3; Bijeljina and Tuzla 4; Ivan Sedlo and Zvornik 7; Livno, Sokolac and Zenica 9; Široki Brijeg and Srebrenica 10; Trebinje 11; Sarajevo 12; Bugojno 13; Mostar 14; Neum and Stolac 16°C.

In the morning, the cold first arrived in the northern areas, with rain turning into sleet and snow. This is evidenced by the photo and video sent to us by a reader from Cazin.

The current temperature in Cazin is around 0°C, and overnight it is expected to drop to as low as -8°C. So far, about four centimetres of snow have fallen, and more is expected during the rest of the day.

The Federal Institute states that during today, a gradual cooling from the north will cause rain to turn into sleet and snow across the country. In the far south, rain may persist.

Wind of moderate strength - in Bosnia, it will change direction from south to north in the morning, while in Herzegovina, the direction will change in the evening hours.

In the second part of the day, air temperatures will drop across all of Bosnia. In Herzegovina, warm weather is expected to persist for most of the day with temperatures from 8 to 16°C, with cooling expected in the evening hours.
