Smajić at House of Peoples session: Another returnee attacked in Višegrad, what is the BiH Ministry of Security doing?

(Patria) - Džemal Smajić, delegate of the Party for BiH from the Bosniak people in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that shortly before today's session of the House of Peoples, which began at 11 AM, returnee Nedžad Drinjak was attacked in the municipality of Višegrad.

He said this while posing a delegate's question to the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, concerning the security situation and the increasingly frequent attacks on returnees in the RS entity.

"What is the BiH Ministry of Security doing to ensure that citizens throughout the country feel safe. It is evident that this security has been compromised. Attacks on returnees in the smaller BiH entity are becoming more frequent. We have recorded constant attacks since the General Elections.

Shortly before today's session, returnee Nedžad Drinjak was attacked in the municipality of Višegrad. A few days ago, we had two consecutive attacks in the village of Gornja Kamenica near Zvornik. Several months ago, there was also a severe physical assault on two elderly people, also in Višegrad. In Srebrenica, where I was also present, a young man, Osman Mehanović, was beaten. The public witnessed the detention and beating of a minor by the police. The boy suffered severe trauma and shock, and his father was in another room listening to everything. You can imagine how his father felt.

And a minor of Serb nationality was not held accountable for open, public threats against Bosniaks in Bijeljina. All those listed are Bosniaks.

A few days ago, Catholic priest Žarko Vujica was attacked in Kakanj. And what particularly disturbs the public is the blocking of roads on the so-called entity line," said Smajić.

Smajić was answered by the Deputy Minister, Nenad Nešić, Ivica Bošnjak.

"All these events fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the MUP RS and ZDK. According to the information available to the Ministry of Security, all agencies have undertaken activities to document these events and prosecute the perpetrators," said Bošnjak.
