Smajić, Bjelak and Pleho remain "Serb" representatives, but cannot be delegates in the House of Peoples of the FBiH

As the Patria news agency announced, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session did not certify the candidacies of three representatives of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton for delegates in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Haris Pleho and Rasim Smajić (BOSS) and Nermin Bjelak (BPS - Sefer Halilović) changed their nationality, declaring themselves as Serbs when running for the general elections in 2014.

They had previously declared differently, and in accordance with the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which specifies that nationality cannot be changed in the middle of an election cycle (4 years), it was decided to reject the certification of their candidacies.

The three of them remain cantonal representatives, and in their place, representatives from other parties who are Serbs by nationality will enter, in order to fill the Serb Club in the House of Peoples of the FBiH.

Instead of Pleho, the delegate mandate will go to Srđan Sužnjević from the DF.

Other candidate lists for filling the House of Peoples of the FBiH, submitted yesterday afternoon by the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, have been certified.
