(Patria) - The Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina has published the decision of High Representative Christian Schmidt to suspend the payment of money from the budget at all levels in BiH for the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), led by Milorad Dodik, and the United Srpska, which is Dodik's coalition partner in the RS.
Schmidt announced the decision on April 24, and it was published in the Official Gazette of BiH a day later.
In the Official Gazette of the RS entity, as well as in the Official Gazette of the FBiH, Schmidt's decision has not yet been published, despite the fact that it states that the decision is to be published "immediately" in all official gazettes at the state, entity and cantonal levels.
Schmidt, explaining the decision, said that the suspension of funding applies to budgets at all levels, from state, entity to municipal, emphasizing that "anti-Dayton action has consequences and that he will reconsider his decision after it ceases."
- All funds for these parties, at all levels of government, will be suspended and redirected to a special account at the Central Bank of BiH - Schmidt told reporters on April 24.
According to data from the financial reports of political parties, SNSD received just over two million KM from budgets at all levels last year, while United Srpska received just over 395,000 KM.
Schmidt's decision ordered banks, in which the two parties have open accounts, to transfer the money paid to them from the budget to the account of the Central Bank of BiH, and to inform the Office of the High Representative (OHR) about this.
Banks have so far not commented on whether they will implement Schmidt's decision.
