KS Assembly rejects Sarajevo Pharmacies report, will Minister Hasanović seek director Hasić's dismissal?

(Patria) - The KS Assembly, at yesterday's continuation of the session, voted on the work and financial performance reports of healthcare institutions in the Sarajevo Canton. All reports were adopted, except for the report of the Public Institution Sarajevo Pharmacies.

Otherwise, the director of Sarajevo Pharmacies, Zenaida Hasić, a figure close to SDP and Aljoša Čampare, exhibited inappropriate behavior at the session yesterday. While deputy Haris Zahiragić was speaking, director Hasić opened the KS Assembly doors, bending down to be filmed by the TV broadcast camera behind Zahiragić.

The Sarajevo Pharmacies report received 17 votes, and among the four abstentions was Mersiha Mehmedagić from People and Justice.

Before voting on these reports, DF deputy Vedrana Vujović noted that votes on reports for 2023 had never been held before. The Speaker of the KS Assembly, Elvedin Okerić, stated that such cases had occurred before and that there were no obstacles to holding the vote.

Regarding the reports for 2023, the Sarajevo Pharmacies report was precisely the stumbling block for the current coalition. Incidentally, the term of the director of Sarajevo Pharmacies expires in May this year.

She took over the leadership of this public institution in 2021.

In her address, Hasić spoke about the challenging financial situation in this institution, noting that they are not a budget user but generate their own revenue.

The Trade Union of Sarajevo Pharmacies has expressed doubts about the privatization of Sarajevo Pharmacies, suggesting that large debts to suppliers should accelerate this process. After Hasić took over Sarajevo Pharmacies, some suppliers lost their contracts, while others are being paid tens of millions of marks for medicines.

After the Report on Work and Financial Operations for 2024 did not receive the support of the KS Assembly, the Minister of Health of KS, Enis Hasanović (SDP BiH), should initiate the dismissal of the director through the Management Board of Sarajevo Pharmacies.
