Canton Sarajevo Assembly: Supervision Ordered Over Police Directorate's Work in the 'Ammar Kapidžić' Case

(Patria) - At today's continuation of the 16th session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, deputies had before them the Information of the Security Commission of the Sarajevo Canton regarding the case "Ammar Kapidžić".

Following the submission by the authorized representative of the family of the murdered Ammar Kapidžić addressed to the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, the Assembly adopted a conclusion tasking the Security Commission of the Sarajevo Canton, in accordance with the Law on Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, to conduct parliamentary oversight over the work of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton regarding possible omissions in the case of the murder of Ammar Kapidžić, which occurred on June 8, 2019, according to the claims of the authorized representative of the victim's family.

The Sarajevo Canton Assembly today established the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Court Fees.

"Today, another important document that I prepared was adopted in the Assembly, namely the Draft Law on Court Fees, which will enable electronic payment of fees, thereby digitizing the administration and increasing efficiency. Citizens will be able to pay court fees online, which will further facilitate the process.

With this law, we plan to exempt newly established business entities from paying court fees upon establishment and registration, which will further stimulate business activity. We also plan to establish a fee collection register, which will help us better control collectability.
