Assembly of Sarajevo Canton on June 17 to discuss laws on communal cleanliness, method of calculating waste disposal changes

(Patria) - The Collegium of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton has set the date for the 31st working session of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, which will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, starting at 9:30 AM.

The proposed agenda includes ten items, among which are deputy questions, initiatives and responses, as well as consideration of several proposals for laws and decisions significant for the functioning of Sarajevo Canton.

Deputies will, among other things, consider the Proposal of the Law on Communal Police of Sarajevo Canton, the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Ministries and Other Administrative Bodies of Sarajevo Canton under an expedited procedure, as well as the Proposal of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Communal Cleanliness.

Regarding the amendments to the Law on Communal Cleanliness, a new system for calculating the waste disposal fee is established, such as differentiated prices depending on the activity being performed, and for households, the price will be formed based on the number of household members, and if the property is not used, a flat rate is paid.

The Law on Communal Police establishes the Cantonal Administration for Communal Affairs for performing tasks of communal police control and communal inspection supervision.

The agenda will also include a Proposal for a Decision granting consent for concluding a contract for the purchase and sale of real estate for the purpose of expanding the Vlakovo city cemetery, a Proposal for a Decision on adopting the Program for the arrangement of construction land and realization of capital investments for 2026, as well as several decisions related to property-legal relations and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

The Collegium also included in the agenda a Proposal for a Decision on amending the Decision on appointing members of the Council of National Minorities of Sarajevo Canton.
