Jumps from the waterfall in Jajce postponed due to the football championship in Brazil

Jumps from the waterfall in Jajce, instead of June 21, will be held on August 9 this year, and the reason for such a decision is the World Football Championship starting on June 12 in Brazil, in which the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team is also competing, reports the news agency Patria.

Huso Hadžić, director of the Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce, told Patria that besides the World Cup, another reason for postponing the jumps is the high water level of the Pliva River, which flows into the Vrbas at the waterfall, as well as the floods that hit a large part of our country during May.

About 21 meters high, formed at the confluence of the Pliva and Vrbas, the waterfall in Jajce is, according to many assessments, among the ten most beautiful waterfalls in the world. It is among the rare waterfalls located in the very center of a city.

The waterfall in Jajce, along with other landmarks of this royal city, was visited by about 80,000 tourists last year, and this year that number could be even higher, writes Patria.
