Boards Removed: National Museum of BiH Finally Opened After Three Years

The doors of the National Museum of BiH, which had been closed for almost three years, were ceremonially opened today by removing boards from the entrance doors, an act performed by children from Sarajevo elementary schools, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Before the museum's opening ceremony, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH to support state-level institutions for the period 2016-2018.

The opening ceremony of the Museum was attended by the US Ambassador Maureen Cormack, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić, and the Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović, who will lead the entry into the opened Museum. Cormack and Zvizdić were the first to enter the premises of this important cultural institution after its opening.

Also, numerous guests from public, political, and cultural life of BiH, as well as citizens, attended the ceremonial event to jointly mark the beginning of a brighter future for the National Museum of BiH.

At 8:30 PM, a 3D video mapping projection will be held. This involves mapping the entrance to the National Museum, symbolically revealing the immense cultural-historical and natural treasures that this institution preserves, and which had been inaccessible to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the past three years.
