
At the Whistler Cup alpine skiing competition held in Montreal, Bosnian skier Elvedina Muzaferija (born 1999) won second place and a silver medal, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
In the under-16 category, Muzaferija achieved an average of 57.58 and 56.91 in two runs out of 15 competitors, totaling 1 minute, 54 seconds and 59 hundredths. Czech skier Nikola Bubakova, who won first place, was slightly more than a second faster, while third place went to host country skier Catherine Dufresne from Canada.
More than 400 athletes from 25 countries around the world took part in this competition.
Muzaferija is a multiple champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in skiing. She is a student at the Fifth Gymnasium in Sarajevo and is described as a great skiing hope.
