Scandalous Decision: Serbia Refuses to Grant Agrément to BiH Consul in Novi Pazar Admir Atović Due to 'War Past'

(Patria) - The Republic of Serbia has refused to grant agrément to the BiH consul in Novi Pazar, Admir Atović, after which he was ordered to leave his post.

Atović confirmed this information for Novi Pazar media, stating that his war past, i.e., participation in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was cited as the reason.

- That is it. I am sorry, to be honest, because I am leaving and departing this city. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia cited my war past as the reason - said Atović.

However, he emphasizes that he is extremely proud of that part of his life.

- I am truly proud of that. If that is a valid reason for them, I know why I fought and I would not change a single day. That is the most beautiful period of my life. We know why we fought, why we live, and what we will never give up - Atović stated.

He also stresses that he will not give up an inch of his positions.

- Whoever wants to take something, whether from Pazar, Sarajevo, or Bosnia, can carry a little soil in their pockets and on their shoes. We do not give up what is ours - added Atović.

For now, there is no official reaction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH regarding this decision, nor any additional explanation from Belgrade.
