Skaka presented Sarajevo Gold Coins to BiH Paralympians

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka hosted a reception today at the City Hall for BiH Paralympians who returned from the recent Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi with ten medals: three gold, two silver, and five bronze, competing in athletics, table tennis, women's football, and long jump.

Congratulating them on their outstanding achievements, Mayor Skaka emphasized that meeting them was an exceptional honor and a special experience for him.

"Because with your example, you show us all how, with desire and work, by believing in yourselves, exceptional results can be achieved. We are proud of you because, with your successes and efforts, you significantly contribute to the promotion of the city of Sarajevo and the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina."

The Mayor then presented the Paralympians with Sarajevo Gold Coins, stating that they deserve nothing less than gold.

"The medals you won in the United Arab Emirates make us proud and happy. For me, our silver medalists in table tennis, Irfan Kulić and Milada Elez, are no less stars than our Edin Džeko or Miralem Pjanić," Skaka said.

He added that our gold medalists Hasan Sejdinović in the 200m race, Snežana Džida in the 400m athletics discipline, and the BiH Inclusive Football Team brought us joy like our heroes Amel Tuka or Damir Džumhur. Bronze medalists Hiba Sultanović – athletics 200m, Njegoš Mihajlović – athletics 400m, and Ena Čatović – swimming 25m breaststroke, are the best sports ambassadors of BiH.

The Director of Special Olympics BiH, Kada Delić, led the delegation of the BiH team at the City Hall today. More than 7,000 competitors from around 190 countries participated in the World Games, and Bosnia and Herzegovina competed with 18 athletes.
