North Korea: We are ready to use nuclear weapons against the US

North Korea claims that its nuclear complex is fully operational and that the country is ready to launch a nuclear attack on the US, if and whenever necessary, writes Independent, as reported by the Patria news agency.

The state news agency published a statement they claim comes from the director of the Atomic Energy Institute, who asserts that the Yongbyon facility, which contains uranium and a nuclear reactor, has been upgraded.

"North Korea has taken self-defense measures in light of the extremely hostile US policy," the statement reads.

They also add that North Korea's nuclear weapons have been improved in quality and quantity, so that they can be used in various missions.

"If the US and other powers continue to use hostile rhetoric and policies, we are ready to deal with it and fight against it with nuclear weapons," they said, writes Index.
