North Korea: Our 'denuclearization' is an irreversibly concluded issue

(Patria) - North Korea said on Thursday that denuclearization is an irreversibly concluded issue, denouncing recent talks on nuclear deterrence between the United States and South Korea, Reuters reported.

"The meaningless rhetoric of the U.S. and its vassal forces against the DPRK and cooperation in presenting a nuclear threat can never affect the irreversible position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state," a spokesperson for the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement carried by state media KCNA, using the country's official name.

"'Denuclearization' is an irreversibly concluded issue," the statement said.

Last week, U.S. and South Korean officials discussed strengthening nuclear deterrence and readiness against North Korea's growing nuclear weapons program at talks in Seoul under their Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG).
