House of Representatives of PSBiH Sessions: Urgent on Steel Protection, Regular Session on Law Amendments

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold two sessions today - an urgent one and a regular one. In the urgent session, representatives are expected to consider a proposal for the protection of domestic steel production, and in the regular session, a series of amendments to laws in the fields of communications, police structure, citizenship, and judiciary, as well as reports on the work of state institutions and the ratification of an agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for infrastructure projects in the Republika Srpska entity.

At the urgent session, which begins at 10 AM, deputies will consider the introduction of a temporary protective measure for the import of steel and steel products, with the aim of protecting domestic production.

The proposers are deputies Šerif Špago, Edin Ramić, Safet Kešo, Denijal Tulumović, Amor Mašović, Šemsudin Dedić, Nermin Mandra, and Midhat Čaušević.

The regular session, which follows at 12 PM, has an agenda of 27 items.

The first item concerns the adoption of the minutes of the previous session and responses to parliamentary questions. Then, the Proposal to Amend the Rules of Procedure of the House (Denis Zvizdić) will be considered under an urgent procedure.

Several legislative proposals in the first and second readings, relating to amendments to the Law on Communications, the Law on SIPA, the Law on BiH Police Officers, the Law on Independent and Oversight Bodies of the Police Structure of BiH, the Law on BiH Citizenship, the Law on Identity Card, the Criminal Code of BiH, and the proposal for the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH.

The agenda of the regular session also includes the Collegium's reports on consent for the consideration of draft laws on labor in BiH institutions, on the protection of geographical indications, on the Court of BiH and the Appellate Court of BiH, and on initiatives by MP Nihad Omerović related to employment procedures in the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH.

Deputies will also consider the annual reports on the work of the House's commissions, the Council of National Minorities, the Ombudsman for Human Rights, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, the Commission for Conflict of Interest, as well as reports on the accommodation of refugees and foreigners under subsidiary protection, and on the work of the independent commission for monitoring living conditions in institutions.

The 25th item on the agenda will be the consideration of the Reform Agenda submitted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

The next item is the proposal for a decision to amend the decision on appointing members of the standing commissions of the House.

This will be followed by granting consent for the ratification of the grant agreement between BiH and the European Investment Bank for the RS II Water Supply and Sewerage project, which includes investments in several municipalities, including Doboj, Gradiška, Prijedor, Trebinje, and others.

The sessions, according to announcements, will be dedicated to key topics, from the protection of domestic industry and amendments to the legal framework in the areas of police, judiciary, and citizenship, to the consideration of institutional reports and the ratification of an international agreement on infrastructure investments.
