The session of the Independent Board of the BiH Parliament has concluded, during which envelopes with applications from candidates for the director of the Agency for Investigations and Protection of BiH (SIPA) were opened, reports a Patria News Agency reporter.
Nine applications were received, and most candidates are close to the SDS, which is supposed to appoint its man to this position in accordance with the party division of positions in BiH institutions.
As confirmed by Žiko Krunić, the Chairperson of the Independent Board, Ranko Vuković, Perica Stanić, Relja Kovač, Davor Vidović, Slobodan Nikić, Elvis Zornić, Zoran Glušac, Dragan Mumović, and Tomislav Mirosavić applied for the position of SIPA director.
Applications from Ranko Vuković and Elvis Zornić were not accepted. Vuković was the favorite, and as Patria has learned, he did not have a certified diploma, so his candidacy was not accepted.
Žiko Krunić, the Chairperson of the Independent Board, stated that they have now sent requests to the competent Ministries of Internal Affairs to provide information about the candidates.
- We will very quickly receive security clearance reports from the Ministries of Internal Affairs, and then we will schedule a session of the Independent Board - Krunić emphasized, declining to explain why Vuković's and Zornić's candidacies were rejected, only stating that they did not have the required documents.
