SNSD Main Board Session: Whom Will Dodik Choose as His Vice-Presidents

The Main Board of SNSD will be held on Saturday (29 August) in Laktaši, and it is expected that the election of the party's vice-presidents will follow at this session, after Milorad Dodik was re-elected as president of SNSD this spring, banjaluka.net reports, as carried by the Patria news agency.

Several members of the Main Board have confirmed that the long-awaited session has been convened without prior notice or an established agenda, but it is also expected that Dodik will finally come forward with a proposal for the party's vice-presidents.

It has long been speculated in the corridors that the candidates for these positions will be Nikola Špirić, Staša Košarac, Nebojša Radmanović, Željka Cvijanović and Igor Radojičić.

However, portal sources claim that the uncertainty will most likely be broken only just before the session itself, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Laktaši Cultural Centre.

According to the new party statute, adopted at the SNSD assembly in East Sarajevo on 25 April this year, SNSD has retained five vice-presidents in its organisational form, and the position of party general secretary has also been reinstated.

According to some indications, the candidate for general secretary could be Dodik's current chief of cabinet, Danijel Dragičević.

The terms of the current SNSD vice-presidents – Radojičić, Nada Tešanović, Velimir Kunić, Nikola Špirić and Radovan Višković – expired at the last party assembly, and since then Dodik's party has, practically, had no vice-presidents.

The session of the SNSD Main Board will be the first meeting of the party leadership since the assembly in East Sarajevo.
