(Patria) - The 20th session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has been scheduled for Thursday, June 4, with an extensive agenda.
Kemal Ademović is the presiding officer until June 15, after which Dragan Čović will take over the presidency. It is no secret that there have been tensions within the Collegium of the House of Peoples for months, and after Ademović schedules a session, delegates from the HDZ and SNSD either do not show up or leave the session, thus failing to establish a quorum for work and decision-making.
Thus, the agenda for the next session includes as many as 69 items, and within the item concerning the Reports of the Audit Office of BiH Institutions on the financial audit of BiH institutions for 2024, there are 73 reports alone.
The first item is the Report on achieving an identical text of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitted by the Joint Commission for Harmonizing the Text of the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its adoption will enable the retroactive payment of salary differences to civil servants and employees in BiH institutions, given that the base salary was increased as of January 2026. However, payment will only be possible after the Budget of Institutions and International Obligations for 2026 is adopted, which is currently in procedure and is expected to be submitted by the Presidency of BiH to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for adoption.
The agenda also includes amendments to several laws, the Report on the Work of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024, numerous other reports, and the ratification of certain agreements.
