Brilliant Džumhur advances to third round of Australian Open, to face Nadal

Damir Džumhur has advanced to the third round of the Australian Open after a confident 3:1 (7:5; 3:6; 6:4) victory over John Millman. Our best tennis player played an excellent match and deservedly secured a place in the next round of this year's first Grand Slam. His next opponent is Rafael Nadal, the world's number one tennis player. 

Damir started the first set brilliantly and made a break in the very first game, but the Australian took our player's serve in the sixth game and equalized at 3:3. However, Džumhur patiently waited for another break opportunity, and when he got it in the 11th game, he used it to take a 6:5 lead, and then won the first set 7:5.

Džumhur started the second set in an identical manner, immediately taking a set from Millman, and even led 2:0, but then won only one more game by the end of the set, and the world's 122nd ranked player equalized at 1:1 in sets with a score of 6:3.

In the first two games of the third set, both players made one break each, and Damir made another in the tenth game to take a 2:1 lead in sets with a score of 6:4.

When he made a break in the fourth game of the fourth set to take a 3:1 lead, it was clear that the tournament's 28th seed would advance. Džumhur routinely maintained his lead, made another break, and won the fourth set 6:1 to advance to the third round.
