
(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina sitting volleyball team opened the Paralympic Games in Paris in the best possible way.
The Golden Lilies came from behind to defeat the tough Egyptian selection 3-1, with set scores of 26:28, 25:19, 25:23, 25:23, reports Faktor.ba.
In the first set, it was 28:26 for the Egyptians. Until the middle of the set, our team held its own. Then the Egyptians went on a 4-0 run, taking a 19:16 lead, before our team fought back to 21:21. We led 24:23, but ultimately lost.
The second set started excellently for Egypt, which led 10:3, then later 12:4 and 13:6. However, our boys came back to 13:13, staged a turnaround, and took the set 25:19.
The third set was also exciting. Egypt led 21:17, followed by a big comeback from our team to win 25:23.
The fourth set was no less thrilling. Egypt was again a tough nut to crack, but our golden boys were at their best when it mattered most and celebrated a 25:23 victory.
In previous appearances at the Paralympic Games, Bosnia and Herzegovina has won two gold medals (Athens 2004, London 2012), three silver medals (Sydney 2000, Beijing 2008, Rio de Janeiro 2016), and one bronze medal (Tokyo 2020).
