Široki Brijeg takes three points from Ugljevik

(Patria) - The first match of Saturday's schedule for the 24th round of the WWin League of Bosnia and Herzegovina between Zvijezda 09 and Široki Brijeg has concluded.

The hosts started the match more actively, having a great chance in the fifth minute. Vadze sent a good cross, and Saliman headed the ball just wide of the goal.

In the 12th minute, Zvijezda 09 players found themselves in another good opportunity when Vadze shot very poorly from five meters, and in the continuation of the action, Ivančić also failed to reach the ball.

In the 23rd minute, Ivančić again had a chance when he headed the ball after a corner, but this time the ball went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Vukoja also shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went wide of the goal.

This was followed by a period of play in which Široki Brijeg took the initiative on the field. In the 35th minute, Kuprešak shot very well from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball hit the crossbar of the hosts' goal. Two minutes later, Bagarić shot from ten meters, but the ball went wide of the goal.

In the closing moments of the first half, specifically in the 43rd minute, the visitors crowned their initiative on the field and took the lead. After a counter-attack, Mamić went one-on-one with the hosts' goalkeeper and scored without much trouble to make it 0:1.

However, the hosts equalized in the second minute of stoppage time. After a free kick taken by Ponjević, Ivančić scored to level the score. The visitors protested to the referees, believing Ivančić was offside, but without success.

The teams went into halftime with a score of 1:1. It should also be noted that in the first half, two Široki Brijeg players, Taraba and Mužek, were shown yellow cards.

The second half, or rather its beginning, offered almost no excitement on the field. Both teams played calmly, solidly, without many forays forward, and without many mistakes at the back, reports scsport.ba.

But from literally the first dangerous attack in the second half, Široki Brijeg took the lead again. First, in the 63rd minute, Kpan passed to Lukić, who failed to score from a promising position, but in the continuation of the action, Kpan passed to Lukić again, who assisted Kuprešak for 1:2.

Only in the 70th minute did we record the first good chance for the home players in the second half. Saliman shot from about 20 meters, and the ball went just wide of the visitors' goal.

This was followed by two excellent chances for Široki Brijeg. First, in the 72nd minute, Mamić headed the ball directly at goalkeeper Jelovac, and then in the next attack, Prusina shot well, but Jelovac saved again.

In the 79th minute, the hosts equalized again. Vadze, the best player for Zvijezda 09 along with Jelovac today, shot from 25 meters and beautifully scored to make it 2:2.

But just two minutes later, Chinedu made an excellent solo run and scored to make it 2:3 and give Široki Brijeg the lead again.

In the 85th minute, Chinedu distinguished himself again when he headed the ball to Kpan, who hit the post of Jelovac's goal.

Široki Brijeg was reduced to ten men in the 85th minute after Taraba received a second yellow card, resulting in a red card.

In the stoppage time, which lasted five minutes, we did not see any serious chances or major excitement, so the match ended with a score of 2:3.

With this victory, the visitors moved further away from the danger zone in the standings, while the hosts continue their fight for survival from the last position. Zvijezda 09 will visit Zrinjski in the next round, and Široki Brijeg will host GOŠK.
