(Patria) - Syria on Wednesday signed twelve investment agreements worth fourteen billion dollars at a ceremony attended by interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa, including infrastructure, transport and real estate projects aimed at reviving the war-torn economy, Reuters reported.
The agreements include one worth four billion dollars for the construction of a new airport in Damascus signed with Qatari holding company UCC and one worth two billion dollars for the establishment of a subway in the Syrian capital with the United Arab Emirates' National Investment Corporation.
Other important agreements include the Damascus Towers project worth two billion dollars signed with the Italian company UBAKO.
In July, Syria signed $6.4 billion in investments with Saudi Arabia as it seeks to rebuild the country after a fourteen-year war.
