Tax Administration of FBiH Union Demands Consent to Initiate General Strike!

(Patria) - The Trade Union and Strike Committee of the Trade Union Organization of the Tax Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SO PU FBiH) has made a decision to initiate a general strike, after the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Ministry of Finance failed to respond to their requests or offer solutions.

The decision was made at a session held on January 16, 2026, and the Union has sent a request to the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees in FBiH for consent to organize and conduct a general strike in the Tax Administration of FBiH.

The Union states that they have previously submitted proposals for solutions to the competent institutions through several official acts and correspondence, but have not received any response to date.

"Due to the complete absence of dialogue and response from the competent institutions, the Trade Union and Strike Committee was forced to make a decision to initiate a general strike," the Union's letter states.

In the coming period, the opinion of the Union's management bodies is expected, after which the specific dates and modalities of a potential strike could be known.
