In the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) today, 25 SIPA cadets took their solemn oath before the Minister of Security Dragan Mektić, officially starting their work in SIPA with the rank of junior inspector.
After passing a rigorous selection process within the application procedure for admitting SIPA cadets, 25 male and female participants attended and successfully completed a four-month basic police training for the rank of junior inspector, conducted by the Agency for Education and Professional Training of Personnel in Mostar.
Among the junior inspectors are seven women, increasing the number of female police officers in SIPA in accordance with relevant regulations on gender equality in BiH, and SIPA remains the leading police agency in terms of the representation of female police officers.
The Minister of Security of BiH, Dragan Mektić, told the cadets that they should be proud to be part of SIPA from today, which, thanks to its work and achieved results, has grown into a leading police agency with a respectable reputation. He emphasized that citizens trust SIPA, that a great challenge lies ahead for the cadets, and that much is expected of them.
- Be consistent in applying the law, brave in confronting crime and performing police duties. In your future work, there can be and must be no untouchables - Mektić stressed.
The Director of SIPA, Perica Stanić, told the cadets in his address that SIPA proudly promotes the sixth generation of cadets today, expecting them to be dedicated to police work and to perform it professionally, honestly, and honorably. He reminded that SIPA has broad powers and that the most complex criminal offenses fall under its jurisdiction, and expects the cadets to give their maximum to contribute to the overall results and success of SIPA.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Director of SIPA, heads of basic organizational units, and directors of the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the Agency for Education and Professional Training of Personnel, and the Agency for Police Support of BiH, as well as the Head of Cabinet and Deputy Director of the BiH Border Police.
