Six months after the tragedy, Tuzla Pensioners' Home without renovation

(Patria) - Six months after the severe fire at the Tuzla Pensioners' Home, in which 17 residents died and more than 30 people were injured, the situation in the institution remains almost unchanged.

Although funds for renovation have been approved, including the kitchen, elevators, and user rooms, work has not yet begun due to administrative procedures and public procurement.

Spokesperson for the Tuzla Pensioners' Home, Admir Muslimović, told BHRT:

"We planned, when conditions allow, to renovate the bathrooms in all rooms and to put the worst parts in order, including the seventh floor which largely burned down."

The Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton states that the investigation into responsibility is still ongoing, and two individuals from the institution's management have been suspected so far.

Spokesperson for the TK Prosecutor's Office, Admir Arnautović, emphasized:
"The investigation concerns criminal responsibility in the chain of various institutions, including fire and social protection."
