SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Today's protest march in Sarajevo was also attended by opposition leaders, among them Senad Šepić, president of the Independent Bloc, who told Patria that it is high time for major changes in BiH.
"The plunder in public procurement and the government's handling of the crisis has particularly revealed the way it functions. That is why they are now trying to postpone the elections and save themselves from defeat. To stop this, we must all unite across BiH, the opposition must act in unity and offer a clear program for change. For many years I have advocated and fought for amendments to the election law, electronic voting and scanning of ballots, and this issue must be our common cry. With the entire opposition, professional media and civil society, supported by citizens on the streets across BiH, we can fight for it. That is why I again call on all others to unite on this issue and initiate changes throughout BiH. This will encourage and motivate our people to turn out in the greatest numbers for the elections, to overthrow the bad and corrupt government and begin building a modern and evenly developed state on every inch of its territory. Today's gathering and the turnout of people in Sarajevo shows that there is readiness and desire among the people for change, and the Independent Bloc and I personally will do everything to unite all healthy forces in BiH and show that this country and its people can do much better than what we are living through today," said Senad Šepić, president of the Independent Bloc.
Today's protest march, organized by Mirsad Hadžikadić's Platform for Progress along with some other organizations, gathered several thousand participants, dissatisfied citizens, the opposition, members of the Voice of Small Businesses, and all those who want and demand change.
