MOSTAR, (Patria) - The Municipal Court in Mostar has passed a guilty first-instance verdict against Sead Đulić known as "Sejo" (69) from Mostar, for the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.
Đulić received a suspended sentence, which establishes a prison term of six months, which will not be executed if the convicted person does not commit a new criminal offense within one year from the date the verdict becomes final. Also, after the verdict becomes final, Đulić is obliged to return the property benefit obtained through the criminal offense to the City of Mostar in the amount of 10,000 marks and to cover the costs of the proceedings. Both the Prosecutor's Office of HNK and the convicted Đulić have filed appeals.
According to the indictment, while holding the position of director of a citizens' association from Mostar and acting director of a public institution, Đulić obtained property benefit by unlawfully using the financial resources of the public institution without a decision from the Supervisory Board. He also transferred 10,000 marks from the account of the public institution to the account of one association for the purchase of a vehicle for another association, thereby obtaining property benefit for the latter, and damaging the public institution and the City of Mostar for the aforementioned amount.
