SDS sends employees to Employment Bureau due to US sanctions

(Patria) - SDS President Milan Miličević said today that the party, due to the closure of accounts and impossibility of payment transactions as a result of US sanctions, has decided to send employees of the party to the Employment Bureau in order to secure a portion of their personal income to which they are entitled by law.

"So that the employees do not lose their right, which they can exercise at the employment bureau through a certain percentage of their personal income, we have paid their taxes and contributions, and they have received termination agreements so that they can register with the bureau and not lose this right, as there are legal deadlines for registration," Miličević told Srna.

He expects that in the interim period, while they are at the bureau, and this period will depend on their years of service, the problem of their financing will be resolved through legally defined channels, which the party is entitled to through local and entity budgets from councilors and deputies, given that this is the money that was used to pay the employees' personal incomes.

Miličević said that there is no other way to pay personal income except through bank accounts.

"So that is the reason why it is like this, and we will try to refund them the difference in salary, because the income at the bureau is lower than the regular one, in another way, and this is not new information," Miličević said, as reported by Srna.

The SDS account was closed on March 29. The SDS has been on the blacklist of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury since 2004.
