SDP calls for dismissal of BiH and FBiH Ministers of Justice

As preparation for the sixth regular Congress of the Social Democratic Party of BiH on October 3rd, a session of the Main Board of SDP BiH was held in Sarajevo on Sunday, which, by majority vote, adopted the draft Statute of the party, which will be forwarded to the Congress delegates for adoption, the SDP announced, reports the Patria News Agency.

The party states that the Main Board also adopted the draft of the innovated Program of SDP BiH, which will be submitted to the delegates of the upcoming SDP BiH Congress.

Innovations to the Statute and Program of SDP BiH have been made over the past ten months, and all organizations and all party members had the right to influence the content of these party documents with their amendments.

In addition to preparations for the sixth regular Congress, the session also discussed the current political situation in BiH.

The Main Board most sharply condemned the Protocol on the Reform of BiH Judiciary, signed in Brussels, which they state could result in the complete collapse of state judiciary, and the total disintegration of the legal system of BiH, and thus the state itself. In this entire situation, the SDP states, SDA is once again trying to present itself as the opposition within the government, as they did in the previous term, even though their officials currently hold the most responsible and prominent positions in the executive government both in the Federation of BiH and at the state level.

- The fact that SDA is now trying to hide its responsibility through press releases cannot change the fact that we have a signed protocol and that it was signed by ministers on behalf of governments led by SDA prime ministers – the SDP stated. How and how much SDA cares about the state is best illustrated, they say, by the recently adopted coordination mechanism, which is nothing more than fulfilling the wishes and ultimatums of Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik.

- Instead of hiding from their own responsibility, we call on SDA and their prime ministers Denis Zvizdić and Fadil Novalić to urgently initiate procedures for the dismissal of the current Ministers of Justice who signed the shameful protocol – the SDP stated.

Members of the Main Board called on SDA and HDZ to create conditions for forming a new ruling coalition at the level of the Federation of BiH as soon as possible and thus, after more than two months, finally schedule a session of the Federal Parliament and start resolving the accumulated social problems of citizens.

They remind that the current work of the minority Government of the Federation of BiH, without majority support in parliament, is completely unsustainable, and it is even more illusory to expect this Government to receive support from the opposition in its work.

The SDP warns that if the winning parties from the elections are unable to form a new parliamentary majority in the shortest possible period, it is time for them to declare bankruptcy of the government and accept the reality of calling early elections as soon as possible.

At the end of the session, members of the SDP Main Board also adopted a Declaration on the refugee crisis, written by the Social Democratic Forum for Southeast Europe and the European Democratic Forum, which calls on European countries, political parties, and civil societies to help refugees from the Middle East, reports NAP.
