SDA: FBiH Government and BH Telecom Management Must Halt Telemach Acquisition Activities Until FBiH House of Representatives Session

(Patria) - The FBiH Government and BH Telecom Management must not make any decisions regarding the purchase of the private company Telemach until a special session of the FBiH House of Representatives is held, the SDA announced.

"It is completely unacceptable for a public company to incur debt of 745 million KM to purchase a private company without full transparency. Citizens and representatives must know exactly what is being bought, at what price, under what conditions, and what consequences such a deal will have on BH Telecom's future operations.

BH Telecom is not the private property of the management nor the political spoil of the current authorities, but a company of strategic interest to the FBiH. Therefore, such decisions cannot be made behind closed doors, but exclusively through institutions and with full accountability to the public.

Any new step must be preceded by a session of the FBiH Parliament at which the representatives of the citizens, who are the owners of BH Telecom, will receive all relevant information concerning this, at the very least, extremely risky undertaking," the SDA announced.
