SDA: Arrest of the Prime Minister Politically Motivated, HJPC Should Dismiss Gordana Tadić

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Following the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which rejected the Prosecutor's Office's request for pre-trial detention of the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, all doubts have been removed that the Prosecutor's Office initiated a politically motivated process, the SDA announced today.

"The Prosecutor's Office's goal was clearly not to establish facts, but to discredit Prime Minister Novalić at all costs and keep him in detention for as long as possible, in order to question his function and weaken the Bosniak factor within the Government of the Federation. The rejection of detention represents a professional disgrace for Gordana Tadić and the prosecutors she authorized to lead this case outside of prescribed procedures. This is also firm proof that the detention of the Prime Minister was exclusively politically motivated, which is a first-class judicial scandal.

We call on the members of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council to initiate the procedure for the dismissal of Gordana Tadić from the position of Chief Prosecutor, due to the attempt to change the constitutional and legal order in the Federation and due to the permanent damage to the reputation of the Prosecutor's Office itself and the loss of public trust in the independence of this institution," the SDA stated.
