SDA: Accepting Dodik's Signature on SNSD's Application is Defying the BiH Court Ruling and Mocking the Rule of Law

(Patria) - Accepting the signature of Milorad Dodik on the SNSD application for the upcoming General Elections is a humiliating charade by domestic and international actors, which has circumvented the final verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) announced today.

"That verdict imposed a ban on Dodik holding public office, including the position of president of a political party. Despite this, members of the Central Election Commission (CIK) allowed him to continue acting as a person authorized to represent the SNSD, thereby ridiculing the legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Political calculations, yielding under pressure, and a lack of principle and courage will not ease relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the contrary, they will further encourage those who destabilize the state, openly advocate for the secession of the RS entity, and continuously attack the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Basic Court in Banja Luka must immediately enforce the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and remove Milorad Dodik from the register as a person authorized to represent the SNSD. We demand that the competent judicial institutions establish the responsibility of all those who enabled the non-enforcement of the final court verdict.

The rule of law is a prerequisite for the stability of BiH, and there will be no rule of law if verdicts are implemented selectively, nor will the elections be lawful if a person who has been banned from holding public office by a final verdict is accepted as an authorized signatory," the SDA stated.
