SDA: The new Greater Serbian Constitution of Republika Srpska is not debated, it is rejected

(Patria) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) announced today that it will not respond to the invitation to participate in the public debate on the new Constitution of the entity of Republika Srpska.

The SDA emphasizes that they have already initiated an appeal before the Constitutional Court of BiH, requesting the annulment of the adopted Draft Constitution of Republika Srpska, and that they have thereby expressed their stance.

"The new Constitution of Republika Srpska, in which this entity wishes to be presented as a 'Serbian state' and foresees a 'confederation with Serbia', is problematic in every sentence.

This constitution is part of a broader Greater Serbian project to dismantle Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was previously articulated through the SNSD Declaration from 2015 and the Declaration of the All-Serbian Assembly from 2024.

Public debates are not held on such documents with their authors, but rather they are rejected.

We also call on all other Bosniak representatives not to respond to this invitation, as it would legitimize the secessionist policy of Dodik's regime.

The invitation to returnees to participate in the public debate, extended by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Mirsad Duratović (SDP), is surprising - but only to those unaware of the behind-the-scenes games in the entity of Republika Srpska.

While constitutional law professors from Republika Srpska, as well as the opposition, refuse to participate in the debate and adoption of the new Constitution, such an invitation comes from the SDP.

It is difficult not to notice that Duratović remains in his position in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, even though the Trojka (Three) is in conflict and breaking the coalition with the SNSD at the state level.

We remind that Senad Bratić was dismissed from that position in the previous term, when Dodik's secessionist policy did not have the momentum it has today, precisely in response to SDA's congress documents.

The position of deputy speaker, from which Dodik's regime does not dismiss Duratović, probably answers many questions, especially about the real role of the Banja Luka branch of the SDP," the SDA announced.
