SDA and HDZ have not submitted proposals for the commission to examine the situation in the judiciary

(Patria) - Most parliamentary groups in the House of Representatives of the BiH PA have submitted proposals for members of the new investigative commission that will examine the situation in judicial institutions, it was unofficially confirmed to Patria from the BiH Parliament.

However, SDA, HDZ, and SNSD did not submit their proposals. SDA and HDZ supported Damir Arnaut's conclusion proposing the establishment of this commission, but by the end of the day, they had not submitted proposals, although the deadline expired on July 2. The SDA Club told us that they will submit a proposal.

SNSD did not even participate in the session, and they have not submitted proposals for other commissions either, so the Parliament is in a kind of blockade; specifically, sessions can only be held with proposals under urgent procedures.

So far, five proposals for membership in this commission have arrived at the expert services: Zlatan Begić (DF), Zukan Helez (SDP), Mirjana Marinković Lepić (Our Party), Damir Arnaut (SBB), and Dragan Mektić (SDS).

We remind you that at the urgent session of the House of Representatives, the conclusion proposed by Damir Arnaut, and supported by the representatives from the House of Representatives, states that the goals of this commission will be to investigate the situation in judicial institutions in BiH, with a special focus on the capacity of the HJPC BiH to participate in the processes necessary on BiH's path to EU membership.

"According to the adopted conclusion, the investigative commission is tasked with carrying out all actions necessary to achieve these goals, in accordance with the Law on Parliamentary Oversight and the Rules of Procedure. The commission, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, consists of at least five and at most nine members. Each club wishing to participate in the work of the commission can submit one member of the commission, no later than seven days from the adoption of this conclusion," the conclusion states.

In the event that the provisions of the Rules of Procedure regarding entity representation are not met after the expiry of the specified deadline, the club that has already submitted members from a given entity can submit the missing number of members from the same entity within an additional period of three days.
