Ahead of tomorrow's continuation of the constitutive session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, it is still unknown who will form the assembly majority. Currently, negotiations led by SDA and the Democratic Front with potential coalition partners are at an impasse, writes the Patria News Agency.
The BPS-Sefer Halilović Party, which has two MPs in the Assembly, has requested, among other things, two ministerial positions in the Sarajevo Canton Government and the position of the Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is categorically opposed by SDA representatives leading the negotiations.
Currently, the option is being considered that SDP MP Amel Mekić, who could join the Democratic Front, would be the 18th MP, and negotiations are also underway with BPS's Nermin Bjelak, which would ultimately result in 19 votes, quite enough for a majority that could then form the Sarajevo Canton Government.
If this scenario were to materialize, then according to information received from DF, their new member, the mayor of Sarajevo's Centar Municipality, Dževad Bećirević, could be proposed as the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, and in that case, SDA would seek seven ministries.
