(Patria) - With the letter that the BiH Court sent to the Central Election Commission (CEC) BiH on October 16, it was finally clarified that after a final court ruling, Milorad Dodik cannot remain president of SNSD, the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) announced today.
SDA emphasizes that this was clarified by the BiH Court's position that the legal consequence of a conviction relates to the termination of official duty and work, or employment in a legal entity, regardless of the method of financing, and that according to Article 7 of the Law on Political Organizations of Republika Srpska, political organizations, which SNSD is, have the status of a legal entity.
"This resolves the issue on which SDA has been the only one insisting since the verdict became final, claiming that Dodik, in addition to the position of president of Republika Srpska, cannot be the president of SNSD either.
In accordance with the BiH Court's letter, the CEC must annul its earlier decision accepting SNSD's candidacy for the early elections in the Republika Srpska entity, because it was signed by an unauthorized person - Milorad Dodik.
If they do not do so, the members of the CEC will face responsibility for committing the criminal offense of non-compliance with the decisions of the BiH Court from Article 239 of the Criminal Code of BiH," SDA stated.
