(Patria) - High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt arrived today in Potočari where, before participating in an international conference organized by the Srebrenica Memorial Center, he paid tribute to the victims of genocide who will be buried on July 11 in the Potočari cemetery.
Schmidt, accompanied by his wife, came to the former battery factory where the coffins with the victims are located. Two victims being buried have no close relatives.
"It is very emotional to be here, 29 years later we see that we can mourn and commemorate those who lost their lives. And every year new names come to those already buried here in Potočari. If anyone has any doubts about what the future must be, and I say this especially to some people from Banja Luka, I would invite them to just come here, be silent, think, mourn, move forward with a strong commitment - never again," said High Representative Christian Schmidt.
Today, participants of the Peace March, cyclists, and participants of the moto-marathon will also arrive in Potočari, who in large numbers this year pay tribute to the victims and will attend the funeral and burial of the genocide victims.
