Schmidt imposed two decisions: Law on MC Srebrenica, and ban on candidacies and appointments of those convicted of genocide and war crimes

(Patria) - High Representative Christian Schmidt addressed the public today from Potočari, and using his Bonn powers, made a new decision imposing amendments to the Law on the Memorial Center Srebrenica-Potočari. The Law was passed in 2007. The decision enables the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center to expand its activities with a genocide research institute. In addition, Schmidt made a decision banning the election and appointment to public office in BiH of all persons convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity.

"We must confront denial, revisionism, and the distortion of truth established by domestic and international sources," said Schmidt.

"I have another set of laws in my drawers, but I call on international and domestic authorities to take them; if that does not happen, I am ready to sign them myself," said the High Representative.
