Schmidt Ignores Genocide and JCE Victims: All Demands Remain a Dead Letter!

By: A. Čorbo-Zećo

Christian Schmidt, the High Representative in BiH, shows a lavish indifference and insensitivity towards the victims of the Greater Serbian aggression, as well as the Joint Criminal Enterprise (JCE) convicted at The Hague, due to his powerlessness against the actions of Milorad Dodik.

Schmidt demonstrates this state of indifference, disinterest, and insensitivity through his continuous ignoring of letters sent by victims' associations, which are seeking a reaction precisely from him.

Namely, letters sent requesting the dismissal of Sanja Vlaisavljević and Lidija Bradara, who in certain ways glorified the war criminal Dario Kordić, have been deeply buried in Schmidt's drawer, just like the letter appealing to Schmidt to stop the growing wave of attacks on Bosniaks in Republika Srpska with his decisions.

And, to stop the wave of incidents in Republika Srpska, which mostly go unpunished, and at a time when the security situation in that BiH entity is worse than ever for Bosniaks (who are called returnees even 28 years after returning to their homeland), victims' associations are demanding that national balance finally be established in the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs.

This should be done by respecting the Constitution of BiH and Republika Srpska and enabling the employment of Bosniaks and Croats in the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, thereby rectifying a long-standing injustice.

Schmidt has never responded to this letter, nor has he contacted the signatories of the letter, of which there were several.

Simply put, it all ended with his statements that he is 'dedicatedly fighting for the safety of citizens'.

His indifference is also evident in the statement that 'law enforcement agencies in BiH have the obligation, as well as the capacity and ability, to investigate all incidents that occur, find the perpetrators, and ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future'.

So, how is it possible that he doesn't understand fundamental issues, or simply doesn't care? On the other hand, he skillfully uses genocide, appeasing Bosniaks with decisions that benefit the Srebrenica Memorial Center. As if Bosniaks were an African tribe that doesn't understand beyond primitive rules that the civilized world doesn't recognize.

Because we all know that authorities have an obligation to apply the constitutional principle of proportional representation of constituent peoples and others in relevant public authorities, including within police structures, but the point is that this has never been practically applied in RS, which is why the initiative was sent to Schmidt, who, more than certainly, will do nothing.

Just as in the case of Vlaisavljević and Bradara, whose dismissals were requested by associations, these demands have been repeated multiple times, and all we have witnessed are brutal attacks on associations by media close to the HDZ, which has not and will not abandon the convicted policy of a joint criminal enterprise.

This is clear, but it is also clear that Schmidt will not abandon those who glorify war crimes, while increasing pressure on pro-Bosnian politics to back down from Dragan Čović's demands.

Therefore, it is not surprising that Schmidt did not contact Murat Tahirović, Munira Subašić, and others, but instead went to a tennis match with Sanja Vlaisavljević, thereby rubbing salt into the deep wounds of the genocide and JCE victims.
