
(Patria) - High Representative Christian Schmidt met with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres at UN headquarters, ahead of his upcoming address to the UN Security Council on May 12, to discuss current efforts and opportunities to strengthen stability and functionality of institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to advance key reform processes.
The High Representative had the opportunity to inform the Secretary-General about the challenges facing the Dayton Peace Agreement recently and their potential implications for the region and Europe.

The High Representative pointed to the efforts currently being undertaken to preserve stability, including strengthening the functionality of state institutions, supporting the constitutional framework, enhancing the integrity of the electoral process, and advancing reforms essential for Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards European integration.
Schmidt thanked Guterres and the UN for their commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of peacebuilding, as well as for financing UN agency programs and projects, the OHR announced on social network X.
